What to do

Whether you plan to relax or be active, we hope you enjoy your stay. The following information may be useful:

Walking- You can use Stroma as a base for a series of day walks, or as an overnight stop on a long-distance walk. A healthy high-energy packed lunch can be provided. If you're on a long distance walk, we can arrange for any baggage, you don't want to carry, to be transported to your intended destination.

Various places in the Borders host walking festivals over the Summer.

If you're unfamiliar with the area, we can suggest walks to suit your fitness levels.

Cycling- We offer secure, dry storage for your cycle (or motorcycle); a limited supply of tools are available for basic maintainance. If you don't know the area, we can suggest appropriate routes, whether you want to go by road, traffic-free path, or off-road. If you haven't brought a bicycle, we can arrange to hire one to suit your needs.

Other- we can provide information on local attractions, whatever your interests- geology, history, literature, music, gastronomy.

Science and Maths tuition- Mike is a very experienced teacher and private tutor in Maths and Science, having taught to Scottish, English and International boards at all levels both in the state and private sectors.
